Many iPhone owners are unable to open the Instagram app since the latest v255.0 update was available on iOS. It’s straightforward and closes right away. Instagram has not yet made clear whether it plans to roll out a fix.

Instagram has frequently occupied the spotlight in recent weeks, whether it was due to the restriction of nude photos in messages, or the extension of the maximum duration of stories from 15 to 60 seconds.

However, this time a rather annoying bug has put Instagram in the news. In fact, a lot of iPhone users (the majority of whom are using iOS 16 or later) are complaining on Twitter and other social media platforms that they can no longer open the app.

The Instagram app for iOS closes right away after opening, according to every testimonial. The typical workarounds, like restarting the phone, are ineffective.

The issue, according to the affected users, first surfaced after Instagram’s most recent v255.0 update went live on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Strangely, iOS 15 users don’t appear to have this bug.

Gizchina News of the week

Instagram has been down for more than 24 hours. The moment the application launches, it crashes right away! If the app isn’t working for you, try logging in via a browser until Instagram fixes the bug brought on by the most recent update, advises one Twitter user.

To fix the bug, other users suggest leaving the app open in the background. On the other hand, if you take it out, the issue reappears and the app cannot be launched once more. Therefore, running the app once and letting it run in the background is the only way to solve the issue on iOS 16 other than uninstalling and reinstalling it.

It is currently unknown when Meta will release a fix. As soon as we learn more about this subject, we will update this article. Are you having this iPhone bug, by the way? In the comments, please.

Update: The issues have now been fixed in a new update available in the App store.
