Information protection is one of the most important aspects of many companies. Any company that requires users’ information must protect the information. There are several hackers globally. These hackers illegally collect users’ information. They probably sell the information brands with an interest in the information. Toyota has reasons to believe that some of its customer’s details may have leaked. The company said it found 296,019 customer information exposed. This information is those that are in the T-Connect service. The information includes email addresses and customer numbers.

According to reports, T-Connect is a telematics service that connects vehicles over the network. The affected customers are individual users who have registered with the service’s website. Specifically, these are users who did their registration using an email address since July 2017. The company claims that information between December 2017 to September 15 of this year could be in the wrong hands. Toyota is not directly in charge of information protection. The contractor in charge made some mistakes that are proving to be very expensive. The company mistakenly uploaded part of the source code with the public configuration.

Sensitive information is still safe

With regards to the mistake and possible leak, Toyota had to release a statement today. Toyota’s statement is based on the investigation by security experts. The company claims that it can not confirm whether there was third-party access from the access history. It believes that the data server does not seem to have lost any data. However, it was exposed to the public thus it “cannot completely rule out” third-party access.

Toyota finds a solution to electric SUV bZ4X wheel shedding problem

A recent report claims that Toyota will restart the production of its electric SUV model bZ4X. The company initially halt the production after discovering issues with the wheel connecting bolts. The problem could cause the wheels to fall off. To solve this issue, Toyota will have to change the vehicle design to improve safety.  The production line at the Motomachi factory in Aichi, Japan will restart production in October. Most likely, the production will start in the middle of October.

The wheels of the Toyota bZ4X will be fixed with wheel hub bolts. Thus, the company will replace the previous bolts. The use of wheel hub bolts will reduce the weight of the body. Some Lexus models use wheel hub bolts to fix the wheels.
