Oppo Reno 9 gets Bluetooth SIG certification

As per reports, Oppo will soon begin a “marathon” of releases. The company will introduce the Oppo Reno 9 series, the Oppo Find N2 and N2 Flip, and there is even a new Oppo A98 5G. The premium devices are expected in December. The Oppo Reno 9 series is set to bring the vanilla, Reno 9 Pro, and the Pro+ variant. For now, the company has not confirmed details about the launch, but the leaks are spreading. The tipster Digital Chat Station already confirmed the arrival of the new lineup. Now, the vanilla Reno 9 passed Bluetooth SIG certification.

Oppo Reno 9 alleged details

The Oppo Reno 9 passed by the Bluetooth SIG database with model number PHM110. Unfortunately, Bluetooth SIG is not the most revealing of the certification bodies. It confirms the model number, and obviously, brings info on the Bluetooth technology. That said, the Oppo Reno 9 will offer support for Bluetooth 5.2.

Thanks to the leaks, we can already draw a good picture of the Oppo Reno 9. The new smartphone will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ SoC. It will match devices like the Motorola Edge 30 5G and the Nothing Phone (1) 5G which are some of the few devices with this SoC. The phone will bring up to 12 GB of RAM and we expect up to 256 GB of Internal Storage. As per the leaks, the company will keep the battery capacity at 4,500 mAh while the charging will still be 67W. We may see improvements in this regard, but only in the Pro variants.

The Oppo Reno 9 will also bring a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED screen with a punch-hole and 120 Hz refresh rate. That is an improvement over the Oppo Reno 8. The mid-2022 model has a 6.55-inch OLED screen and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The phone will likely retain the in-display fingerprint scanner. Some rumors point to the use of a curved panel, which will be a first for the vanilla series. Moving around the back, the company will bring a triple-camera array with a 64 MP OmniVision OV64B shooter. The other sensors are still a mystery, but we’re betting on an ultrawide snapper and a macro/depth unit. For selfies, Oppo will retain the traditional 32 MP camera.
