VIVO X90 Pro+ Is The First Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Phone, As Mi 13 Launch Is Postponed

VIVO X90 Pro+

The VIVO X90 series of flagship phones was launched a few days ago. The top-end model in the lineup is the VIVO X90 Pro+. But at the launch, VIVO didn’t disclose what chip the phone comes with. We had assumptions that it was the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. But there was no official confirmation … until today.

The only piece of information shared by VIVO at launch was that the chip uses a TSMC 4nm chip. When the fans asked the spokesperson for more details, he said that they would learn about everything on December 2. Today, VIVO kept its word and said that the SoC inside the VIVO X90 Pro+ is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The firm also said that this model would start shipping on December 8. Thus, this is the world’s first smartphone coming with this chip. However, there was every reason to think this title would belong to the Xiaomi Mi 13 series of phones.

Anyway, the VIVO X90 Pro+ is the strongest flagship of VIVO in ten years. It comes with only powerful hardware but also very strong shooting capabilities. For instance, there is a Zeiss 1-inch T* main camera built on the basis of the IMX989. Plus, we can find a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle Sony IMX598 lens, a 50-megapixel portrait mid-focus lens (Sony IMX758), and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens (OV64B). VIVO has also powered the phone with its in-house-made V2 imaging chip. This is the ceiling in the Android camp.

In other aspects, the VIVO X90 Pro+ uses a 6.78-inch E6 eye-protecting curved screen. The latter supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Our protagonist has a built-in battery of 4700mAh, which supports up to 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging solutions. Also, it is IP68-rated and comes with stereo speakers, NFC, infrared remote control, and many more.
