Chinese manufacturer, Meizu, has not been very active in the tech industry. However, the company is not redundant as it continues to release decent products. According to a new video that leaked online, the Meizu 20 will come with a premium design. The new video reveals the Meizu 20 mobile phone as well as the FlymeAuto car-machine system. The video from a Weibo tech blogger, @不是郑小康 appears to be an in-house leak but the video is a bit blurred. However, there are screenshots of the video which reveal the system of Flyme Auto. The location of the video is Chu, Wuhan. This suggests that the video is coming out of China.

This latest info coupled with the previous leak from the Meizu flagship store some time ago reveals the interface operation of the Meizu FlymeAuto smart cockpit. The video is reportedly taken using the Meizu 20 series and it shows the large-screen collaborative performance. Looking at the operation and system of Flyme Auto, it looks very similar to Huawei’s Harmony in-car system. However, there appears to be a new way of interactive operation between devices. The video also shows that the FlymeAuto car system has a simple interface, smooth operation, and supports the split-screen operation.

Meizu 20 rumours

As for the Meizu 20 mobile phone, because the video is blurry and the mobile phone is suspected to have a confidential case, we can only see that the phone should use a straight screen with a relatively high screen-to-body ratio. The system screen can be transmitted to the car system through the operation of the mobile phone. This is very close to the function of Harmony Super Desktop, and the screen flow is very smooth.

According to the previous reports from Meizu officials, FlymeAuto is the continuation of Flyme in the car system. It will continue the design concept of “Alive Design”. The interconnection and intercommunication of multi-terminal, all-scenario and immersive fusion experiences are finally realized. Recently, the Meizu offline brand flagship store located in Chuhe Han Street, Wuhan, was exposed. It is currently building enclosures and is suspected to be under renovation. According to the current progress, it is expected that the Meizu 20 series and the flagship store will be unveiled during the Spring Festival.

At the moment, there is not much info regarding the Meizu 20 series. However, there are still a couple of weeks before the official launch of these devices. In the coming days, there will probably be more leaks and rumours regarding this new flagship series.

Gizchina News of the week

Meizu 20 Standard Edition gets 3C certification

After the release of the Meizu 18 series, the company is now getting set for its next flagship mobile phone series. At the moment, there have been a couple of reports regarding the Meizu 20 series. At the Meizu Conference 2022 held last month, Meizu announced that it will release a new generation of “Meizu 20 Series” in the spring of 2023. The new machine is currently going well and has been tested before it will enter the mass production stage.

At present, the battery pack of Meizu 20 Standard Edition (M381Q) has passed the Chinese 3C certification. In the listing, the model number of this device is BA381. Also, the battery capacity is 4600 mAh although the typical value for the batter is 4700 mAh. In addition to the fairly decent battery, this device also supports 80W fast charging. The Meizu 18 has a built-in 4000 mAh battery and supports 36W fast charging. Thus, we can see that Meizu brings some upgrades to the battery capacity as well as the charging speed.

According to previous leaks and teasers, the Meizu 20 series flagship mobile phone is the pioneer of the full-scene fusion experience. This flagship mobile phone series will come with the top second-gen. Qualcomm Snapdragon Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Also, there are reports that this device will support the new satellite communication tech.

In July last year, Xingji Times reports that it held 79.09% of the controlling stake in Meizu Technology and obtained sole control of Meizu Technology. Shen Ziyu, vice chairman of Xingji Times, who is also the chairman of Meizu Technology, said that Meizu will retain an independent team and release a new flagship next year.

Meizu 20 series will be released next spring

At the Meizu Conference 2022 which was held back in December last year, the company reveals that it will cancel the Meizu 19 series. This means that after the Meizu 18 launched in 2021, the company will jump to the Meizu 20 this year without releasing the Meizu 19. This new mobile phone has since passed the testing phase and it is now getting set to enter mass production.

Meizu 18X

Meizu said that this is a mobile phone product that carries the pioneer of a couple of features. Some of the features include a multi-terminal, full-scenario, and immersive fusion experience. Also, it is a mobile phone product that is integrated into the next era. According to previous revelations and preheating content, the new phone will be equipped with a brand new Qualcomm second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform that supports satellite communication technology.

Two Meizu mobile phones with model numbers M381Q and M391Q appeared in the firmware database and  Geekbench. At that time, some leakers claim that these devices will come with the names Meizu 20 and Meizu 20 Pro. The former seems to have a built-in 4700 mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging .

Meizu Technology was established in 2003. If the new phone is released next year, which happens to be its 20th anniversary, it seems this is the reason why the company wants to change the name to the Meizu 20 series.
