The market of foldable smartphones is expanding with many offers from different brands. The BBK Electronics group is entering the segment in full force since the last year. Its brands Oppo and Vivo launched a couple of foldable smartphones, and more are set to come. While OnePlus and Realme are set to join soon, Vivo will go for its second generation which is also set to bring a new variant – the Vivo X Flip. Last year, Vivo started its journey with a horizontal folding phone, the Vivo X Fold. After an incremental upgrade in the form of Vivo X Fold S, the company is now gearing up to introduce the Vivo X Fold2. It will come alongside a new Flip variant.

Vivo still needs to confirm this device, anyway, it keeps making rounds in the rumor mill. Today, a mysterious device believed to be the Vivo X Flip has passed by Geekbench benchmark. The phone passed by the popular website with the V2256A model number. Thanks to the listing, some of its key specs are now available. The phone runs Android 13 which should not be a surprise. We expect it to have a layer of FuntouchOS 13 running atop. The listing also confirms 12 GB of RAM and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

Vivo X Flip

It seems that Vivo X Flip will be another clamshell foldable phone with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. That’s the same CPU inside of the Oppo Find N2 Flip and the Galaxy Z series. Apparently, we will have to wait for a bit longer to see the first clamshell foldable with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Worth noting, however, that the upcoming Vivo X Fold 2 will bring the latest Qualcomm CPU.

According to the leaks, the Vivo X Flip will pack a large outer display and will sport a gorgeous design that resembles the Vivo X series. The inner display will have a 6.8-inch diagonal with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The leaks also point to a 4,400 mAh battery with 44W fast charging. The phone will have two cameras at the rear – one with 50 MP (IMX866), and another one is a 12 MP ultrawide.

As per the rumors, Vivo will launch the new foldable phones very soon. Considering that the Vivo X Fold came in April last year, we have strong reasons to believe in a release for the new devices in the next month.
