Vivo S17e gets 3C certification; Dimensity 7200 and 80W charging in tow

Vivo S17e

Vivo had one of its greatest releases in the month of April. After the launch of the Vivo X Fold2, Vivo Pad 2, and the all-new Vivo X Flip, the brands are preparing updates for the mid-range market. Today, a new Vivo S-series phone was spotted on the 3C certification. The device in question passed China’s Compulsory Certification with model number v2285a. As per the Tipster Digital Chat Station, the phone in question is the Vivo S17e and has 80W charging. In related news, the iQOO Neo 8 (v2301a) and 8 Pro (v2302a) have also passed by the 3C regulator with 80W fast charging.

Vivo S17e, S17, and S17 Pro alleged specs

The tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Vivo S17 and S17 Pro will pack the BOE OLED displays with a 1.5K resolution. The Vivo S17 series will feature curved displays, and we expect the Vivo S17e to also keep this form factor. It seems that all three phones will pack the same 80W charging. To recall, this used to be Vivo’s most cutting-edge charging tech. However, with the rise of the 120W charging on flagships, the company is moving the tech to devices that are lower in the hierarchy. Anyway, don’t confuse the Vivo S-series as standard mid-range phones, they are more likely touted as “premium mid-range” phones.

Gizchina News of the week

Vivo S17e

The Vivo S17 and S17 Pro will bring 50 MP Sony IMX766 main cameras with OIS, and will also include a 12 MP portrait telephoto camera. We believe that the Vivo S17e will have a simpler setup with the ultrawide and macro shooter. The Vivo S17e will bring the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 which is a really impressive chipset for the mid-range market. It boasts a 4nm manufacturing and has ARMv9 cores. The higher models probably will bring Dimensity 8000 series chips or any Snapdragon counterpart.
