Expanding Horizons: Realme Launches the Realme 11 4G and 11 5G

Earlier this year, Realme presented three smartphones in its numbered series, the Realme 11, 11 Pro, and Realme 11 Pro+. All these three smartphones were unveiled with 5G connectivity and compelling features. Today, as expected, Realme is adding two more smartphones to this lineup, the Realme 11 4G and 11 5G. These two are aiming at the international markets, the Realme 11 5G arrives in Taiwan, and the Realme 11 4G debits in Vietnam.

Both devices arrive as good options for those who don’t want to spend much on a smartphone, but still, want a device that will deal with basic social media usage, casual gaming, and media content. The devices have some similarities, but overall, they’re completely different smartphones. It’s not a simple change of processor between the 4G and 5G units. Let’s dive into the specifications for further details about them.

Realme 11 4G and 5G Specifications

The Realme 11 5G packs a 6.72-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the Realme 11 4G has a smaller 6.4-inch display with AMOLED technology, and Full HD+ resolution, but a lower 90 Hz refresh rate. As you can see, the 5G unit cut the costs on the kind of display. The 4G variant has a superior AMOLED screen, but you must deal with the lower refresh rate and smaller form factor. Both devices have the same 16 MP selfie snapper. However, the 4G variant has a top-left cutout, whereas the 5G model has a centered punch-hole.

The Realme 11 4G and 5G also differ in the camera department. The 5G has a 108 MP ISOCELL HM6 main sensor and a 2 MP depth helper. The 4G variant has a 108 MP main camera and a 2 MP monochrome sensor. Again on the similarities, both devices have the same Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13. Both have 5,000 mAh batteries with 67W SuperVOOC charging. Despite their low position in the market, it’s impressive to see the 67W charging here. So consumers will be able to use them for long hours thanks to the large capacity. Whenever they need to replenish the battery, it won’t be an issue thanks to this fast-charging tech.

Comparing the Chipsets

Under the hood, the Realme 11 5G comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset. The 4G variant, on the other hand, has a Helio G99 SoC. You may be wondering how these chipsets compare from a technical view, right? Well, the Dimensity 6100+ marks its debut with the Realme 11 5G. The new processor bets on old tech to keep its price competitive. For example, it has two old 2x ARM Cortex-A76 cores and 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores. The chipset supports 10-bit 90 Hz or 120 Hz displays and supports AI cameras with up to 2K. Meanwhile, the Helio G99 is a known chipset. It’s a refreshed Helio G9x series CPU with a newer 6nm (the old chips were 12nm) manufacturing. It also offers support for 108 MP cameras.

The Realme 11 4G is a decent mid-range smartphone for those who don’t need 5G connectivity. On the positive side, it counts with an AMOLED display which offers more vivid colors, deep blacks, and more contrast when compared to LCDs. The performance of these two devices is similar even though the Dimensity 6100+ is a newer chipset. So it’s up to the consumers to evaluate their need for 4G or 5G connectivity.

Pricing Info

On the pricing, the Realme 11 4G comes in Black and Gold colors. The pricing of the phone is VND 7,390,000 ($312) for the 8 GB / 128 GB trim and goes up to VND 7,990,00 ($337) for the 8 GB / 256 GB option. The Realme 11 4G sells in the same Black and Gold trims with a starting price of TWD 8,990 ($286) in its 8 GB / 256 GB trim.

For now, these devices are available in Taiwan and Vietnam. However, Realme will likely expand its availability in the coming months. They will be competing with the likes of the Redmi 12 and Redmi Note 12 4G variants for the crown of the budget segment.
