Xiaomi has officially announced the launch date of the brand-new Redmi Note 13 series. It’s set for September 21, which is tomorrow. But the event is not just about the Note 13 lineup. Xiaomi will also be introducing the Redmi Buds 5.

What to Expect from the Redmi Buds 5

Xiaomi has uploaded a poster of the Redmi Buds 5, which gives a hint of what you can actually expect from the wireless earbuds. As you can see from the picture I’ve attached below, the Buds 5 comes with a distinct design from its predecessor. The Buds 4 came with an oval case, and it had a canal-style design.

On the other hand, the Redmi Buds 5 features a rectangular case. And the earbuds come with stems instead of having a canal-style design. Overall, the design appears to be ergonomic, so the earbuds should offer long-lasting comfort.

But what’s more important is that the Redmi Buds 5 will offer 46dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). This means you can get complete isolation while listening to your favorite tracks in a busy environment. To compare, the predecessor came with a 35dB ANC feature.

Moreover, the wireless earbuds flaunt a 2kHz noise reduction range, and they feature an AI call noise reduction feature. This AI calling feature utilizes a dual-microphone system, enabling you to take calls even when you’re in a noisy environment.

Redmi Buds 4 Special Edition

In terms of audio performance, the Redmi Buds 5 comes with a 10mm dynamic driver setup. Considering the fact that the drivers are large in size, the buds should deliver crisp and detail-filled audio.

The other features are still unknown, but most of them should be similar to the Redmi Buds 4. That means the battery life of the Buds 5 will be close to or higher than 30 hours. Also, there should be a fast-charging tech and advanced noise cancellation modes in the new buds. We will update you when Xiaomi launches the buds.
