Redmi Note 13 Series Will Get 3 Years of Android Updates


Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce the Redmi Note 13 series smartphones in India. The list of devices set to reach the country includes the Redmi Note 13 5G, 13 Pro 5G, and the Note 13 Pro+ 5G. These smartphones will reach India on January 4 and are confirmed to go on sale in India via Flipkart and Amazon. While we wait for the launch, Xiaomi keeps revealing small details about them, building the hype for the release. Now, ahead of the launch, new information coming from the reliable tipster Sudhanshu, states that the Note 13 series will run Android 14-based MIUI 14, instead of HyperOS. The upcoming Redmi Note 13 series smartphones will receive three Android software updates. When it comes to the security patches, they will be eligible for four years of security updates. The Redmi Note 13 series will not receive HyperOS anytime soon. However, Xiaomi will keep them updated via the latest MIUI 14. This is a major commitment from Xiaomi and a great step for the Redmi Note series and the mid-range market. Specifications and Key Features

The Redmi Note 13 series devices are launching in India on January 4. The devices are expected to offer similar specifications as the Chinese variants. The Note 13 lineup boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the vanilla boasts the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC. The Note 13 Pro has the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2. The Note 13 Pro+, on the other hand, has the Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipsets respectively.

When it comes to the camera, all three models come with 16 MP selfie cameras. The Redmi Note 13 includes a 100 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor, the Note 13 Pro and Pro+ come with a 200 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro shooter.

The Redmi Note 13 5G and the 13 Pro+ 5G pack a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 67W and 120W fast charging. The Note 13 Pro 5G is equipped with a 5,100 mAh battery and offers support for 67W fast charging. When it comes to security features, all three smartphones have in-display fingerprint scanners and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
