Valve Updates Steam AI Content Policy

Steam

Valve has introduced a new set of rules for its Steam AI content policy. It will enable developers to add more AI content to the gaming platform. But of course, according to the new set of rules, the devs need to disclose their use of the technology. Otherwise, the AI content won’t make its way to the platform.

The company says that the changes in the Steam AI content policy will enable the platform to bring a “vast majority of games that use” AI. Valve says that the changes to the policy were made after months of discussions with game developers. This suggests that it has considered most of the aspects of the space before coming to a decision.

About the Updated Steam AI Content Policy

According to the updated Steam AI content policy, developers will need to be transparent about using the technology. For example, if they use AI tools to generate code, art, sound, or any generated content, the devs must disclose it. In addition, the new rules are here to ensure the generated content doesn’t infringe copyright.

Valve says that the team will evaluate each of the games that fall in the category. The company will check if the developers are submitting truthful information. The new Steam AI policy also takes care of live-generated AI content.
