Xiaomi POCO X6 Series Debuts With Capable Specs and Affordable Price Tags

POCO X6 Pro

Xiaomi has been teasing the POCO X6 series for quite a while now. Well, the lineup was finally revealed today. As expected, the series comes with two brand-new devices.

One is the regular POCO X6, while the other is called the POCO X6 Pro. They share a lot of similarities in terms of design, with the back having a two-tone finish with a large camera island. However, there are a good number of differences in terms of the internals.

POCO X6 Pro: Powerful Mid-ranger

As you may have guessed, the POCO X6 Pro is a more powerful device among the two. Here are its main highlights:

Capable Mid-range Internals

Under the hood, the POCO X6 Pro has the Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC. Even though it is a mid-range CPU, the processor is capable of delivering flagship-grade performance. That means you can expect to enjoy a smooth experience while running resource-intensive apps and games.

On that note, Xiaomi has paired the CPU with an adequate amount of memory and storage to handle heavy loads. The X6 Pro comes with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage. These two will let the device run demanding apps and games with ease.

As for the battery, the POCO X6 Pro comes with a large-sized 5000 mAh cell. Xiaomi has paired it with 67W wired charging, making the battery get from 0% to 100% fast.

The other internal highlights of the POCO X6 Pro include an IP54 rating, Bluetooth 5.4, and an IR blaster.

Display and Software

On the front, the POCO X6 Pro has a 6.67-inch display. It’s a 1.5K resolution AMOLED panel that Xiaomi calls DotDisplay. With a 120 Hz refresh rate, the screen can deliver fluid motion, allowing you to get a flagship-grade gaming experience with the phone.

Display Features

In addition, the screen comes with a touch sampling rate of 2160 Hz, enhancing the display’s responsive nature. Other notable specs of the display include Gorilla Glass 5 protection and a peak brightness rating of 1800 NITS.

Moving to the software department, the POCO X6 Pro ships with HyperOS out of the box. With this, the POCO series has become among the first few devices to bring HyperOS to the international markets. For those wondering, Xiaomi introduced it with the Chinese release of the Xiaomi 14 series back in October of last year.

POCO X6: Affordable Price, Superior Performance

The POCO X6 is the more affordable model out of the two. But that doesn’t really make it less of a high-performance device. As a matter of fact, it has what it takes to take care of all your heavy gaming needs.

Display and Battery

Starting from the front, the POCO X6 comes with the same display as the X6 Pro. That means it has a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. You also get the same Gorilla Glass 5 protection with a peak brightness rating of 1800 NITS.

Gaming Screen

Surprisingly, the POCO X6 comes with a slightly larger battery than the Pro. The device packs a 5100 mAh cell that supports 67W charging. So, you can expect to get a good overall battery life out of the device.

SoC, RAM, Storage, Software, and Other Internals

While the POCO X6 Pro came with a Dimensity chip, the regular version features Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. This is also an upper-end mid-range chipset that can deliver good overall performance. Xiaomi has paired it up with up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, which is a downgrade from the Pro model.

The storage also saw a downgrade in terms of the technology. It comes with UFS 2.2 flash storage. But the good part is that you can get the phone with 512 GB of storage. So, storing large-sized files on the POCO X6 will not be too bothersome.

As for the software, the smartphone has HyperOS, which is based on Android 14. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.2, IP54, stereo speakers, and an IR blaster on the top.
