About a week ago, Chinese brand, Xiaomi, released the top model of the Xiaomi 14 series, the Ultra model. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra has three models which are separated by their RAM sizes and internal storage. The available models for this device include

  • 12GB of RAM + 256GB internal storage – 6,499 yuan ($904)
  • 16GB of RAM + 512GB internal storage – 6,999 yuan ($973)
  • 16GB of RAM + 1TB internal storage – 7,799 yuan ($1,084)

Looking at the prices above, this device is not cheap. If you are to spend such funds on a mobile phone, you will certainly want to know how much you will need to fix it if anything goes bad. It is important to note that these are the prices for the repair materials for the main components. The labour guide price outside of the warranty is 40 yuan ($6). Generally, non-warranty maintenance fee = maintenance material price + labour fee.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra

The Xiaomi Mi 14 Ultra is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile processing platform, LPDDR5X memory, and UFS 4.0 flash memory. This new phone uses a 6.73-inch 3200×1440 resolution OLED deep four-curved screen with a local peak brightness of 3000nit. In addition, the device uses Leica’s new Summilux quad camera on the rear, including a 50MP Sony LYT-900 main camera (OIS), a one-inch f/1.63-f/4.0 1024-stop variable aperture, and ALD ultra-low reflection coating. The ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses are both Sony IMX858.
