POCO C61 Launching in India on March 26

POCO C61

The next smartphone in the budget-oriented POCO C-series will launch in India on March 26th. The company has just confirmed the release date for the POCO C61. The device has been at the center of multiple leaks in the past few days. These leaks confirmed pretty much most of the specifications coming with the device. It will come with a new design language, up to 6 GB of RAM with virtual 6GB RAM, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000 mAh battery.

POCO C61 Specifications

It may sound promising, but we can’t forget the POCO C61 is a low-end smartphone. The addition of a 6 GB variant is certainly a great step forward for the lineup. However, performance will still be modest with the Octa-Core Helio G35 SoC. The POCO C61 shares the same design and specifications as the Redmi A3. As usual for the POCO lineup, the POCO C61 is a rebranded Redmi A3. The phone will include a 6.71-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate.

POCO C61

The POCO C61 will feature a simple 5 MP front camera, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and 10W charging via USB Type-C. The phone seriously cut corners in the specifications to offer an appealing price. The starting variant for the Redmi A3 costs just INR 7,299 ($87) with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of Internal Storage. Right now, it’s unclear if the POCO C61 will offer the same variants. However, we know it will have a higher model with 6 GB of RAM. Also, the bank offers in India may bring the price to very appealing levels.

With the POCO C61, the brand will continue its legacy in the low-end smartphone segment. It will offer a decent performance for casual app usage, social media, and basic games. The battery will last and the display will feature a decent quality and smooth 90Hz refresh rate. With the launch set for March 26th, we expect POCO to intensify its marketing campaign in the next few days.
