Redmi Watch 4 Gets Smarter With the Latest Update

Redmi Watch 4

Originally introduced in November of last year, Xiaomi recently rolled out the Redmi Watch 4 to the global markets. At the core, it’s an affordable smartwatch that’s priced under $110. While its price point is wallet-friendly, the wearable didn’t back down on features. But, yes, it didn’t have any support for voice assistants after launch.

Well, that changes today because Xiaomi has rolled out an update for the Redmi Watch 4. The new version of the software, version 2.2.80, brings support to Amazon Alexa voice assistant. This means the smartwatch is now more capable than ever.

More About the Amazon Alexa Voice Assistant Support on Redmi Watch 4

While Xiaomi is slowly rolling out the 2.2.80 update for Redmi Watch 4, it seems that not all regions will get support for Amazon Alexa. For example, a user from the USA confirmed that they got the update and saw Alexa in the smartwatch. However, the user couldn’t use it as it said, “not supported in your region.”

Xiaomi hasn’t offered any formal announcement on the matter. So, we don’t really know which regions have official support. But you can definitely give the update a try by updating the software of the Watch 4 through settings and checking if voice commands work or not. If you see the “not supported in your region,” you may not be able to use Amazon Alexa on the wearable.
