A Return to a 5500mAh Large Battery

One of the standout features of the Redmi K80 series is its return to a 5500mAh large battery, which is 500mAh more than its predecessor. This increased battery capacity is expected to provide users with longer battery life, enabling them to use their devices for extended periods without the need for frequent charging. The larger battery capacity will be a welcome addition for users who rely heavily on their smartphones for various tasks, such as gaming, streaming, and productivity.

Xiaomi has a history of producing mobile phones with large battery capacities, particularly in the Redmi and Mi series. The Redmi Note series, known for its affordability and remarkable features, includes devices with strong 6000mAh batteries, such as the Redmi Note 11S and Redmi Note 11 Pro. These phones offer prolonged use, making them ideal for heavy smartphone users. Xiaomi’s flagship Mi series, like the Mi 11 series, also features larger battery capacities, allowing for smooth gaming, video consumption, and multitasking without worrying about battery life.

Different Chipsets for the Standard and Pro Versions

The Redmi K80 series is rumoured to offer different chipsets for its standard and Pro versions, namely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 mobile platform. This dual-chipset strategy will enable the series to cater to different market segments, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 mobile platform powering the flagship models and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform powering the mid-range models. This approach will allow Redmi to offer a wider range of devices that cater to the needs of different users, from casual smartphone users to power users who require high-performance devices.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is an upcoming chipset set to launch in October 2024. It will feature the Oryon CPU cores, custom cores made by Qualcomm, and is expected to offer significant performance improvements over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The chipset will be based on a 3nm process and is rumoured to reach 4.0GHz with the Oryon CPU cores. Also, it will likely be paired with the latest Snapdragon X80 5G Modem-RF system. With this system, it will offer better data speeds, reduced latency, and improved coverage and location accuracy.

….. yes… Hongmi and Mi, obviously since this is their two brands. All POCO and funny other names are just Mi or Hongmi rebranded phones for exportation purpose.
