Tecno Phantom V2 Fold & V2 Flip Gets Certified: Get Ready for Affordable Foldable Devices

There was a time when there were just a few options in the foldable smartphone market. However, different smartphone manufacturers have tried their luck and have done a pretty good job. Tecno also launched its new lineup last year that introduced the V Fold and V Flip devices. Now the latest news suggests that the company is preparing for the launch of the successors of these devices. Let’s delve into the details of the Tecno Phantom V2 Fold and Phantom V2 Flip below.

Tecno Phantom V2 Fold & V2 Flip Gets Certified: Get Ready for Affordable Foldable

The latest news is that two new smartphones have been certified by EEC. They have the model numbers AE10 and AE11 which we anticipate to be for the V2 Fold and V2 Flip respectively. The last year’s models came with the model numbers AD10 and AD11, which is a strong indicator that the newly certified model numbers are for the foldable.

Previously, the Phantom V2 Fold was also spotted on the IMEI database by Ithome. Hence, there are multiple reports hinting that Tecno is indeed cooking their next foldables.

On GeekBench, the phones with AE10 and AE11 model numbers were also spotted. The listing on GeekBench revealed that the devices are powered by the Dimensity 9000+ and Dimensity 8050 respectively.

High competition in the foldable market

Since the Phantom V Fold and Flip were the first try of Tecno in the foldable market, we can say that the next-gen should focus on improving the devices further. There seems to be a hot competition building in the foldable market in the coming months as we anticipate an affordable Galaxy Z Fold FE device as well. If Samsung launches its affordable option, it will surely create some fire in the market. Hence, I will not be surprised if I see multiple foldables from one company in different budgets. That said, there might be some time until we see more details on Tecno’s next foldables.
