Xiaomi has released the initial firmware update, HyperOS 1.0.12, for its recently launched electric vehicle, the SU7. This marks a significant step, as previously, HyperOS updates were exclusive to Xiaomi smartphones.

The update addresses a few key functionalities. It resolves an occasional issue where the electronic door lock wouldn’t unlock using the charging gun button after the security system was activated. Additionally, the update optimizes the charging logic and enhances compatibility with third-party chargers. Finally, it rectifies a rare occurrence where noise cancellation might malfunction upon opening the door.

  • City Pilot Beta Version: This introduces a beta version of an advanced driver-assistance system designed for urban environments.
  • Valet Service Beta Version: This offers a beta program for a valet service, simplifying the car handover process.
  • NFC Switch for Wireless Phone Charging: The update incorporates an NFC (Near Field Communication) switch for activating wireless charging of smartphones.
  • Support for 4 NFC Key Wearables: Up to four wearable devices can be programmed as NFC keys for unlocking the SU7.

Following HyperOS 1.1.0, Xiaomi plans to release HyperOS 1.2.0 by the end of May. This update promises even further advancements, including a blind spot display system, an adaptive head-up display with automatic height adjustment, and improvements to the autopilot functionality.

The Xiaomi SU7 has garnered significant traction since its launch. Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, announced that the 10,000th production vehicle rolled off the assembly line just 32 days after the car‘s debut. This rapid production ramp-up underscores the strong initial demand for the SU7.
