Compared to early days developer previews, QPR betas are less buggy. In Google’s own words, they are “suitable for general use.” The Android 16 QPR1 release is scheduled for September 2025.

Critical Fixes in This Release

This beta brings a set of important bug fixes. Below are some of the most critical issues fixed:

  • Bugs on which the Pixel Launcher failed to load.
  • Notifications not showing properly on some devices.
  • The media player from the notification shade not showing or working properly.

  • Notification messages not folding correctly in the notification shade.

These updates improve system performance and user experience. Google also welcomes feedback from beta testers through the Android Beta Feedback app, which is located on all supported devices.
