Samsung looks set to launch another budget-friendly phone in its Galaxy A series. After the quiet release of the Galaxy A17 5G, we’re now seeing signs that a 4G-only version is also on the way. The new Galaxy A17 4G was spotted in leaked images online, giving us a good look at its design and hinting at an upcoming release.

Leaked Images Show New Colours
Popular tipster Evan Blass shared images of the Galaxy A17 4G in two colours: black and light blue. These shades are slightly different from the 5G model, which comes in black, dark blue, and grey. From the images, the phone looks very similar to the 5G version in terms of design, with a clean look and a triple camera setup on the back.
Pricing Leak Suggests It’ll Be Cheaper Than the 5G Model
Earlier leaks from Europe have given us a rough idea of how much the Galaxy A17 4G might cost. In Italy, the 5G version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage was listed at €320, while the 4G model with the same memory setup was shown at €290. Later, a Spanish listing showed the 5G version priced at €310, which lines up well with the earlier leak when you factor in local taxes. This makes the €290 price for the 4G version quite believable.

Launch Date Still Unknown, but Patterns Suggest It’s Close
While Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy A17 5G will begin shipping in Ireland by August 18, there is no official word yet on the 4G version. That said, this isn’t unusual. Last year’s Galaxy A16 4G also launched shortly after the 5G model. If Samsung follows the same pattern, we can expect the Galaxy A17 4G to arrive about a week later.
A Familiar Strategy from Samsung
Samsung frequently introduces simultaneous 4G-enabled and 5G-enabled editions of its smartphones, providing consumers with additional flexibility and alternatives. The 4G variation is generally more affordable and specifically manufactured for individuals lacking 5G connectivity or perceiving it as unnecessary.
Indications strongly demonstrate that the Galaxy A17 4G should become available imminently, plausibly preceding the conclusion of August. With disclosures already illustrating the configuration and anticipated valuation, it remains only a question of timing before Samsung delivers an official confirmation.
