The UMIDIGI Z Pro will be the first smartphone from the freshly renamed Chinese phone maker. It will also be the first smartphone boasting the new MediaTek Helio X27 and a dual camera setup, on its way to join the best products in this category, the likes of iPhone 7, Huawei P9, Xiaomi Mi5s Plus, Honor 8 and few others.
That said, today we’re having a look at the upcoming UMi Z which “only” comes with a single camera, but that’s for a reason. They want this device to be cheaper while still keeping an high quality standard, adding another camera would have either increased the price or lowered the quality of the cameras and lenses (to keep the price low). Same goes for the selfie shooter on which they didn’t skimp.
Indeed, the front camera features the same 13MP Samsung sensor you find on the back of the device, plus it’s accompanied by a LED flash light they call Soft Light.
Nowadays front cameras are getting more and more important, almost as much as the rear one. People take lots of selfies and still many phone manufacturers use lower quality sensor to perform that job. This doesn’t happen on the UMi Z which uses a 13.0MP Samsung S5K3L8 to produce clear and detailed photos, it also comes useful if you often do skype calls or live videos of yourself. In addition to that, Soft Light helps a lot in low-light situations.
The Samsung S5K3L8 sensor uses advanced ISOCELL and pixel technologies
to deliver richer images with higher color fidelity, regardless of lighting conditions. It can also record videos at high frame rates without dropping in details while consuming less power compared to similar sensors.
Thanks to the latest MediaTek Helio X27’s new ISP, the camera can take advantage of Dual Focus system (laser+PDAF autofocus) to improve photos clarity, focusing speed, noise and color management. Plus, you can now record smooth 4K videos with awesome results and no lag. This means the UMi Z will push the Samsung image sensor to its limits and capture the best images possible.
Probably the biggest problem in photography is light, or better said, the lack of it. Taking pictures in low-light situation is a task in which even cameras still struggle and, of course, it gets worse on smartphones. To solve this problem UMi Z has decided to go with a Quad-LED flash light which, as the name implies, is composed of four LEDs that will adjust according to the color temperature of the environment. A very important factor to shoot realistic looking and more clear photos.
The UMi Z costs $279 but in the presale period that begins on January 4th you can find it for $60, thus costing $219. If you’re interested in that you can subscribe to the mailing list over here.

happy new year….. and do not forget a CUbot phone is a JUNKbot phone
haa haa haa
did you mean a cubot is a 垃 bot
got work better than any cubot phone
cubot phone broke after 3 months…no UK repairs department…the one year guarantee is useless…wasted £100 of my money.
Please do not waste your money
Same happened to me with Xiaomi, three times.
I have tried so many Xiaomi devices. Never any of them broke or had any problems except the Helio X10 one with bluetooth issues. But nothing else.
i’m glad for you…
but hey, it’s just you….try to google litlle about problems that i had, and you’ll see, i am not alone
haha I see.
But I don’t think that it is Xiaomi’s mistake yes? What exactly happened to break the phone??
As i wrote before, Redmi 1s problems with GPS, Redmi pro have burned in screen after 2 months, and with Mi4i… I just don’t know where to start, with battery, overheating, yellow stein on screen, OS problems…..
Feels bad man.
All my phones work perfectly fine. Except the BT on Helio X10 phones which I stated before.
Are you talking about the Redmi Note 2? Because with the Note 3 I haven’t had any problems, yet. *knocks on wood*
Both of them.
I connect to my friend’s BT and suddenly it disconnects and weirdly enough, the sound switches to my mobile’s speaker and not just pause!
No no it is not my friend’s BT fault, because I had Mi3 Mi4 and Mi 4c and Mi Max and Mi note 2 and all work perfectly.
Not only that, but also you know that Mi band can unlock your phone etc..? This works almost always, but after 2-5 hours it just STOPS so I close and reactivate BT and it is working fine again.
Well, that sounds pretty annoying.. lol.
Very much mistake of Xiaomi, not a user mistake…and of course if you ask their support for a help, just ask, nothing more… You’ll get answer that they don’t provide help for international buyers, since there is no international warranty for their products.

Do a right click on some of the photos and search by google you will find them appearing in many sites in as early as September.
Umi should sue them for taking the photos even before the phone was created.
?????????????
Think their is cuple hundred thousand users that should sue UMI for breaking one year warranty.
But enough about this garbage.
