Oppo Find X Indian launch date announced for July 12

The Oppo Find X is arguably one of the best innovative smartphones from a Chinse OEMs this year. Released shortly after the VIVO NEX hit the shelves, the Oppo Find X combines a premium glass finish that boasts of pleasing aesthetics with a retractable motorized panel that keeps both the front and rear cameras out of sight without the need for the display notch.

The device was first announced at a global launch event in Paris, and since then, it has only managed to reach the Chinse market and is now set to launch in Philippines and India. The company’s Indian arm has started sending out invites for a launch event slated for July 12, where the Find X pricing, availability and other launch details will be made known.

One of the major highlight and probably the best selling point of the device is its slide-up camera system which enables it achieved it 90% Screen to body ratio. OPPO’s approach involves the use of a dual-rail periscope structure that hides the phone’s 3D structured light sensor and the front/rear camera sensors in the up-sliding periscope that automatically pops up when the camera is launched.

A major concern to users, however, is the question of what happens when the device falls accidentally when taking selfies?  Well, the maker says the device has a special anti-fall design which detects the fall and retracts the camera panel. Oppo further says the front and rear glass, as well as the metal middle frames of the device, have plastic buffer layers for more protection, while also re-assuring users that the camera panel irrespective of the nature of use is sure of at least 5 years lifetime.
