Asus ZenFone Max M2 and Max Pro M2 go official with big batteries


Among the latest additions of 2018 are the ASUS ZenFone Max M2 and its big brother ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 that has been announced in Russia in the past few days and today in India.

These are two mid-range smartphones that we have already talked about in the recent weeks, they come with a big batteries and a low prices, both phones runs stock Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is upgradable to Android 9.0 (Pie) in January.

ASUS ZenFone Max M2

Starting from the cheapest, the ZenFone Max M2 has a modern design. It packs a 6.26-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch, and it’s powered by Snapdragon 632 SoC with up to 4GB of RAM, has a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera for capturing depth information in portrait shots and an 8-megapixel camera on the front, both the LED flash.

It has a metal back with plastic finish on the top and the bottom, comes with dedicated dual SIM and microSD slots, Dual 4G VoLTE, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 4000mAh battery.

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2

Let’s move on to the superior model, definitely more interesting for both design and features. ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 frontally is almost indistinguishable from its younger brother. We find ourselves in the same proportions as regards displays and frames, including trapezoidal notch. But In place of the metal there is a glass back panel.

The Max Pro M2 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, it’s powered by Snapdragon 660 with 4GB of RAM, has a 12-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera and a 13-megapixel front camera, both with LED flash.

      What’s more disappointing is that it has only Wi-Fi b/g/n! At least the Pro version should have had Wi-Fi a/c.

      Phones at the same price, and some below, have a/c! What a let down.
