Vivo V20 Pro will cost INR 29,990 ($405) in India, coming on December 2

Vivo V20 Pro smartphones for selfies

A couple of months ago, Vivo unveiled the Vivo V20 and Vivo V20 SE in India. Now, the company is gearing up to launch the Vivo V20 Pro variant in the country. After teasing it as “coming soon”, the company officially confirmed its arrival for December 2. We’re just two days away from the launch and the price of the aforementioned device popped out in the wild. The mid-range phone was listed across multiple retailers in the country. According to these listings, the device will cost INR 29,990 or about $405 for the variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Memory.

The Vivo V20 Pro flaunts a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with FullHD+ resolution. Vivo was one of the pioneers of the waterdrop notch trend, but still, this phone comes with the hideous wide-notch solution. The reason? The phone ships with a dual-selfie module, so it needs plenty of space and the company didn’t want to go the pill-shaped punch-hole route. The AMOLED nature of the display allows the biometric sensor to go underneath which is a plus.

Under the hood, the chipset comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G. This chipset seems to be Vivo’s favorite choice for the premium mid-range segment. It is present in a plethora of Vivo smartphones like the Vivo X50. The V20 Pro 5G now joins the gang of devices sporting the SD765G in India, like the OnePlus Nord. The SoC is made on the 7nm process and brings 5G connectivity, but for now, there’s no use for it in India rather than offering top-notch performance. In the future, the phone will able to surf in the country’s fifth-gen networks. The phone is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage.

On the smartphone back, we have a square-shaped triple camera setup. It comprises a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP monochromatic lens. The wide notch houses a 44MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide lens. So selfie lovers will find a paradise on the V20 Pro. The phone draws power from a 4,000mAh battery which in days of 6,000mAh batteries seems to be the “new standard size”. The phone supports 33W fast-charging. It runs Android 10 OS with Funtouch OS 10. Hopefully, it will receive the Android 11-based OriginOS in the next year.

India is the first overseas market to get the handset

India is the first country to get the premium mid-range device among global markets. Of course, we have to see how it will perform in the country especially with the growing tensions between the two nations.
