OnePlus Supposedly Working on Cheaper ‘Lite’ Version of OnePlus Buds Pro

OnePlus Buds Pro

Recently, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus Buds Pro, the latest and greatest the smartphone giant has to offer with ANC and wireless charging. The earbuds will go on sale tomorrow, but, before that, there is some news that can impact your buying decision.

Today, Max Jambor, a famous Twitter leaker has suggested that OnePlus is working on a new pair of truly wireless earphones with some revisions in comparison to the new OnePlus Buds Pro.

Jambor took to Twitter to claim that a new set of earbuds from the company might be in the works, with the leaker suggesting that these supposed buds will also come with support for ANC, but for a lower price.

This suggestion hints at a Lite edition of the OnePlus Buds Pro, an odd advancement considering that the OnePlus Buds and Buds Z already exist, both of which offer good specifications but lack ANC.

An option is to opt-out of wireless charging support to lower the price, trading it with ANC and decent sound. If OnePlus does manage to do so, it could take on the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 and Apple’s AirPods by undercutting them and the recently launched OnePlus Buds Pro.

The company may name them the OnePlus Buds 2 since the original Buds debuted in July 2020, but, OnePlus can also call them the OnePlus Buds Pro Lite.

OnePlus Buds Pro: Features and Specifications

OnePlus Buds Pro

The Chinese giant has, first and foremost changed the design of the OnePlus Buds Pro to avoid the confusion buyers had with the OnePlus Buds, which appear to be a hybrid between Google’s Pixel Buds and Apple’s AirPods.

The buds come with the company’s smart adaptive noise cancellation, capable of automatically adjusting the amount of noise cancelling needed depending on the situation and surroundings.

Sound is dependent on 11nm Dynamic Drivers, with the company also adding a triple-mic setup capable of filtering out noises of up to 40dB to offer a comfortable and better listening experience in comparison to generic ANC systems that have fixed ANC levels.

The Buds Pro last a whopping 38 hours with the case, and 5 hours with ANC on and a decent 7 hours of continuous usage without ANC switched on, much better than previous offerings.

Warp Charge also ensures quick charging, with a 10-minute charge allowing for 10 hours of audio listening. Users can also wirelessly charge the buds via Qi Wireless Charging.

The Buds Pro went on sale on August 26 in India and are available for Rs 9,990 in the country, with the Buds retailing for $150 elsewhere.
