Anker looks set to expand its Zolo accessory
line with a new wall charger.
According to
AnkerInsider, this upcoming charger will
be a compact but capable device with multiple charging options.
The model number is A121C, and the charger has
already surfaced online through leaks.
Four ports,
shared power
The Zolo charger is rated for a total of 70W,
but like most multi-port chargers, output changes depending on how many devices
are connected.
It includes three USB-C ports and one
USB-A
port. Each USB-C can deliver up to 70W on its own, while the USB-A reaches
22.5W.
However, if users simultaneously plug two
devices, they will share the power at up to 67.5W.
If the connection increases to three or the
maximum four devices, the shared power drops to 64.5W.
This setup is quite common in the charging
industry, and it helps to balance the output and also avoid overloading.
Anker Foldable
plug for travel
This new device stands out for one small
detail: its foldable plug. While not new in the market, many chargers still
feature fixed plugs.
The foldable plug design suggests that this
will be a portable device that will be travel-friendly.
It also means you can slip it in a pocket or
pouch without worrying about the prongs scratching other gear.
Design and
options
The charger will reportedly come in at least
two colors: black and white. This fits with Anker’s usual design choices,
keeping it simple and practical.
The size hasn’t been confirmed yet, but given
the foldable plug, it should stay fairly compact.
Pricing and
launch
Nothing is official yet, but reports suggest
the Zolo 4-Port 70W Wall Charger could launch in the United States within the
next year.
As for the pricing, the leak claims that it
should sell for around $50 to $60, but this is not official.
However, the speculated price puts it in line
with other high-capacity multi-port chargers on the market, though actual
pricing will depend on final specs and availability.
Multi-port chargers have become more important
as people carry more devices. Phones, tablets, earbuds, and even smaller
laptops now charge over
USB-C.
Having a single compact brick that can handle
all of them at once is a real convenience. The Zolo charger looks to offer a
balance between output and portability.
