Anker’s smart home brand, Eufy, is
getting
ready to release a new outdoor security
camera called the eufyCam S4.
This device, with model number T8172, brings together a mix of features aimed
at making home monitoring easier and more reliable.
It comes shortly after Eufy
introduced other cameras like the PoE Cam E41 and the SoloCam E42.
Dual
Cameras for Better Coverage
The eufyCam S4 will come with a two-in-one
design.
The top camera is a 4K camera that covers a range of 130 degrees from
left to right.
On the bottom, there is a 2K camera that covers a range of 70
degrees top to bottom.
Together, these two lenses make sure that no corner is
missed, whether you want a wide look at your yard or a closer view of what is
happening on the ground.
Smart
Sensors and Night Vision
To help detect movement, the camera
uses two Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors along with a radar sensor.
There’s also
a light sensor that adjusts the camera to different lighting conditions.
For
nighttime use, the eufyCam S4 has four built-in LED spotlights that make it
possible to capture colour video even in the dark.
A microphone and speaker
allow for two-way talk, so users can communicate directly with visitors or warn
off strangers.
AI
Features and Security Tools
To distinguish different objects,
people, and pets, the eufyCam S4 comes with powerful
AI features that help
execute this task.
When paired with the S380 HomeBase 3, the system also
offers facial recognition for added security.
To scare off intruders, the
camera is equipped with a loud 105-decibel siren and flashing strobe lights.
Power
and Storage Options
The camera can run on a rechargeable
battery, and leaked images suggest it will include a detachable 5.5-inch solar
panel to keep it charged.
There is also provision for a wired setup for customers
who do not want the capturing of footage to be interrupted.
Video recordings
can be saved locally on a microSD card with up to 256 GB of storage.
The device
will also support Fusion Link, which allows transmission of footage over a
range of up to 1.25 miles.
Price
and Availability
Although Anker has not confirmed a release date,
reports suggest the eufyCam S4 will cost around €299 in Europe.
Bundles with
the HomeBase 3, such as a package with two cameras and the base station, could
be priced at €699.
A US launch is expected soon, but local pricing remains unknown.
