After rounds of leaks, Google finally took the wraps off the Pixel 10 series. The new lineup brings the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. These smartphones offer satellite communication, and this feature is becoming increasingly interesting this year. Apparently, Google forgot to announce a game-changing part of this feature during the event - it will be able to make WhatsApp Voice and Video Calls without an internet connection.

WhasApp Calls Via Satellite Now Possible with Pixel 10 Series

The new Pixel 10 lineup will be the first ever to offer support for placing WhatsApp Voice and Video Calls via Satellite Connectivity. This feature was previously used just for emergency calls and alerts, but now it gets deeper with support for a third-party app. The new feature will be available on August 28, as Google announced it through a post on X.
There is still a small catch in this feature. You will need to be on a participating carrier, which may charge you extra to use this function. And these small lines make the feature not so jaw-dropping as it would be without this requirement. More details will surely be disclosed by the carriers in the next few days. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of something that can become mainstream in the coming years.

The Google Pixel 10 series brought improvements in the screen quality, batteries, and cameras. However, one of the biggest highlights is the new Tensor G5 chipset. It's the first version of the Tensor series to be fabbed by TSMC instead of Samsung. It brings improved efficiency, and for the first time, should bring the Pixel devices closer to the Snapdragon flagship Android gang. Another interesting detail in these smartphones is the support for seven years of OS and security updates.
