Apple To Launch Budget $299 Wi-Fi Only iPad

Chinese media sources are claiming that Apple is readying to unveil its previous generation iPad as a new budget Wi-Fi only iPad costing as little as $299!

The claims report that the 'new' iPad will get the same specification, Apple A4 Chip, 10 hour battery, 9.7 inch 1024 x 768 LCD display, 802.11a / n wireless, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, accelerometers, compass, etc, as the now discontinued iPad, but wrapped up in a new case design

The new design is expected to be 12.7mm thick and the whole 'new' old budget iPad will weigh roughly 1.5 pounds (680g).

There will be 2 models available the cheapest being a $299 16Gb model and the most expensive a $399 32Gb version, both of which will be Wi-Fi only.
