UPDATE: Activate iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G with SAM and Redsn0w :

Limera1n.cc have posted the following guide showing how users can activate their iPhone 4, 3GS or iPhone 3G without the use of an official SIM card or hactivation.

The hack works thanks to sbingner's new tool which called SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module) and redsn0w 0.9.6b6. Moreover this mix-up has fixed the battery consumption problem some have reported after unlocking iPhone 3GS/3G with ultrasn0w 1.2.
The guide doesn’t say if this new hack will be able to unlock the base-band of the the rather troublesome iOS 4.1 or 4.2.1, but rest assured we’ll be personally trying it in a few hours and will post our results.
