After a few delays, Meizu has f
inally unveiled the Meizu 22, its latest flagship smartphone, along with the updated Flyme AIOS ecosystem. The phone was originally slated for August, but fans now have a fresh device to explore starting today.
The Meizu 22 weighs 190 grams and measures 8.15mm thick, featuring a 2.5D micro-arc front and slim 1.2mm bezels on all four sides. Meizu calls it a 50:50 balanced design, meant to feel symmetrical in the hand. One interesting addition is an independent AI button, which can trigger over 20 shortcut actions with a single press — handy if you love quick access to tools.
Display and Design
The front panel is a 6.3-inch 1.5K display with a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Peak brightness hits 6000 nits, covering the full DCI-P3 color gamut. Eye strain is minimized with RuRan Eye Protection Technology, combining hardware-level low blue light and DC dimming. Overall, the display is crisp, bright, and built for extended viewing sessions.
Cameras
Meizu went all-in on imaging, equipping the phone with four 50MP cameras:
- Wide-angle: OV50H, f/1.68, OIS
- Periscope telephoto: Sony IMX882, OIS, 3x zoom with 15cm tele-macro
- Ultra-wide: OV50D, 122° FoV, f/2.0, 2.5cm macro
- Selfie camera: OV50D, AI face rejuvenation, HDR
Whether you’re shooting landscapes, portraits, or macro shots, the Meizu 22 handles them all.
Performance and Battery
Under the hood, it runs
Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, cooled by a 4500mm² VC liquid cooling system, paired with up to 16GB RAM. Power comes from a 5,500mAh battery with 80W wired and 66W wireless charging. The software, Flyme AIOS 2, brings AI-driven tools like AI drawing, glare reduction, and small-window multitasking. Car owners get Flyme Auto 2 and Flyme Link for integrated vehicle connectivity.

Other perks include UWB digital key support, a linear vibration motor, infrared remote functions, and IP66/IP68 water/dust resistance. Top-tier models unlock USB 3.2 and DisplayPort 1.2, while other variants are limited to USB 2.0.
