Samsung started
rolling out One UI 8 yesterday, kicking things off with the
Galaxy S25 series. Yes, that includes the regular S25, the Plus, the Ultra, and even the Edge. Some users in South Korea are already seeing the update pop up. For everyone else, it’s coming — just be patient. Samsung usually starts home first before moving updates to other countries.
The
official Newsroom post was light on details. It mostly said that
One UI 8 will reach the Galaxy S24 line, the Z Fold6 and Flip6, and the S24 FE “later this year.” Helpful, sure, but not exactly a month-by-month breakdown. Luckily, a Samsung Community moderator in Korea shared the rollout timeline, and that gives us a clearer picture.
September: S25 series first
This month is all about the Galaxy S25 models. If you own one, you’re basically at the front of the line. Updates are already rolling, and the experience should feel pretty smooth.

- Galaxy S25+
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
- Galaxy S25 Edge
October: most recent flagships and tablets
October is when the bulk of devices get it. Think Galaxy S24 phones, last year’s S23 line, and the S22 series (yes, even some older phones are included). Foldables like the Z Fold6 and Flip6, several Tab S10 models, and mid-range A-series devices like the A35 and A36 are also in this batch. In other words, if you bought a phone in the last couple of years, there’s a good chance October is your month.

A few things to keep in mind
- This timeline applies to South Korea first. If you’re elsewhere, your update may come a few weeks later.
- Samsung updates don’t always land at the same time for every device — patience is key.
- Even phones in the same series may get it on different days.
So, the takeaway: S25 owners get the first taste, most recent flagships follow in October, and everyone else waits until November. Samsung’s
One UI 8 is coming, but when it shows up depends on which Galaxy you have and where you live.
