The smartphone industry is growing at a tremendous rate. In recent times, there has been a lot of innovations and additions to smartphones. While some of this innovations are changing the looks of the smartphone industry, others are completely useless and absolutely unnecessary. Two years ago, an Andriod phone with 4GB RAM seamlessly falls into the flagship category but now, it has to be 6GB or 8GB and if a flagship must use 4GB it better have a swarm of other mouth-watering features.

Now, the rumor mill is talking about 10GB of RAM in a smartphone? Seriously? Who's gonna need that? Asus made a name for itself by being the first company to use 4GB and 8GB of RAM in its Asus ZenFone 2 and ZenFone AR respectively. Now the company is thinking of stacking 10GB of RAM on a smartphone. According to Roland Quandt, a well-known leakster, about a few months ago, Asus wanted to integrate 10GB of RAM in a smartphone, but it was not done because there was no room to put the necessary modules in the little space available for a PoP design.

Of course, Asus still plans to launch this smartphone and it is expected to be the world premiere. Roland speculated that the original phone to launch with 10GB RAM is probably the ROG Phone just released. In all honesty, 10GB of RAM is ridiculous, its something you do when you lack other innovative ideas just to get the attention. Recent polls on GizChina.Com and other websites show that 4GB of RAM have served users just well over the years. Do you think 10GB of RAM on a smartphone will make a relevant difference?
