Xiao Yi releasing Leica T lookalike camera

UPDATE: The Xiaomi Yi M1 mirrorless camera has now launched.

Xiao Yi are the Xiaomi backed company who make action and IP cameras, however they are looking further up market now with a full on digital camera.

If you walk around the electronics markets in China you will come across plenty of Chinese camera makers, but they tend to be low-end, bargain basement items, that’s to say nothing like the product Xiao Yi are teasing.

Xiao Yi have already had plenty of success with their action cameras and IP cameras but this new product has to be the most exciting we have seen from the brand so far.

Full details of the Leica T look a like haven’t been published as yet, not has a product name or price, but a few details have filtered through to us. Apparently Xiao Yi have build their camera with a 16 mega-pixel Panasonic CMOS sensor, with F1.7 aperture and ability to shoot 4K video.

Xiao Yi are looking at positioning the camera above the Panasonic GF and will be formally announcing the camera later today. Watch this space.
