OnePlus 15 Walks By FCC, Teasing an Imminent Release in the US

The OnePlus 15 launched in China in October and became available in other countries in November. OnePlus didn't reveal when the phone would hit the US, but was still painting the scenario under wraps. The launch of the OnePlus Ace 6T last week proved that the company was still doing preparations. After all, this model in particular will be launched globally as the OnePlus 15R. The brand confirmed the launch of it alongside a new tablet and a new OnePlus Watch Lite. Now, it seems that it is preparing the terrain for a US release.

The device was spotted at the FCC certification, which hints at its global release. The USS FCC is an important regulator for smartphones that plan to launch them in the country. This particular regulator took some time due to the US government shutdown, which prevented the agency from issuing the certification of the phone. The phone's tests were completed, but the company was unable to obtain approval due to the shutdown.

Thankfully, the mist towards OnePlus' launch in the US is finally dissipating. The FCC certificate has finally been issued. That means the US launch can happen at any time, and it should occur soon, considering the slightly delayed schedule. According to reports, the OnePlus 15R will also sell in the US once it becomes available. We wouldn't be surprised to see both the flagship and its cost-effective sibling launching at the same time.

OnePlus, so far, is one of the Chinese brands that can walk in daylight in the US. It's also one of the most distinct experiences for the US consumer when you're in a world full of Samsungs, Motorolas, and iPhones.

The OnePlus 15 will try its luck in the country as the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 there. It comes with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of Internal Storage. There is also a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide snapper. Finally, we have a 32 MP selfie camera, and a 7,300 mAh battery with 120W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The phone runs Android 16 with OxygenOS 16 atop.
