ColorOS 17 Teased with Major Design Overhaul and Fluid Animations

OPPO has finally told us more about ColorOS 17's new look. They shared the exact features behind the software's new "liquid acrylic" style that leaked earlier.

The best change is a floating navigation bar that sits above whatever's on your screen. OPPO says this design will show up in almost every built-in app, giving the whole system a much more matching look, so for everyone who is into phone "Aeasthetics" willbe really glad to hear this. That should also make the redesign feel like it covers everything, not just a few updated screens here and there.

ColorOS 17 is also getting the same rounded corners everywhere across the system, plus a new animation system called "fluid fusion." Menus and apps are meant to switch more smoothly, with animations that flow from one screen into the next instead of making each change feel sudden and jumpy.

One of the coolest details is OPPO's flexible feedback system. Things on screen can stretch as you drag them, squeeze together during fast or hard swipes, then bounce back once you let go. The point is to make everything feel more alive, giving it something closer to real, physical movement on screen.

These changes build on the "liquid acrylic" look OPPO showed off earlier. See-through layers, glowing light effects, and blur as part of the new style. Sounds pretty cool in my opinion. OPPO also says it uses softer light bending than Apple's Liquid Glass style, which should help save battery while still keeping text easy to read on AMOLED screens.

ColorOS 17 will probably launch with OPPO's next flagship lineup, the Find X10 series. After that, it should spread to other OPPO, OnePlus, and Realme phones, as OPPO keeps working for a one shared software across all three brands.
