Oppo has officially
released its latest tablet. This device is the Oppo Pad Air5, and it hit the shelves this morning.
Aimed at students and casual users, the new device enters a competitive market
with an aggressive starting price of 1,899 yuan ($271).
Some buyers can even grab it
for as low as 1,709 yuan ($244) by using local government subsidies. This launch is
clearly a play to offer high-end features like a sharp screen and a massive
battery without the premium price tag usually seen from competitors.
A Modern and Functional Design
The Pad Air5 comes in
two distinct colours, which are a vibrant Starlight Pink and a
professional-looking Space Grey. It features a large 12.1-inch
display that boasts a 2.8K resolution, ensuring that text looks crisp and
videos look sharp. One of the
coolest things about this model is the "Soft Light" screen option. If
you pay a little extra, you can get a matte finish that feels more like paper
and stops the screen from being so reflective. It’s a lifesaver if you spend
hours reading or if you ever try to use your tablet outside on a sunny day.
Solid Performance and Extras
Under the hood, the tablet runs on a MediaTek
Dimensity 7300 Ultra chip. It’s built to keep things moving smoothly, whether
you're jumping between apps or just streaming your favourite shows. To top it
all off, Oppo is throwing in a bunch of free gear if you buy one during the
launch. Every
tablet comes with a protective case, a set of decorative stickers, and the
official stylus pen. Including the stylus at no extra cost is a significant
move, as many other brands charge a lot of money for their digital pens
separately.
Built for All-Day Use
Powering all these features is
a massive
10,050mAh battery. Most tablets in this price range carry smaller batteries, so
this should allow users to get through a full day of work or school without
reaching for a charger. For entertainment, the device is equipped with a
four-speaker sound system to provide a more immersive audio experience. It also features 8-megapixel cameras on both the front and back,
which are perfectly fine for scanning documents or jumping onto a quick video
call.
Availability
The Pad Air5 is
available in three different storage levels to fit different budgets. The base
model offers 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage, while the top-tier version
bumps those numbers up to 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage.
Sales are
currently live, and it has bonuses and government discounts. This makes it one of the best-value tablets on the market right now.
