When
ZTE made the official
ZTE Grand S launch at
CES, the company didn't mention plans of a
U.S release, but after careful probing it turns out it will head to
U.S carriers later this year.
The
Grand S made an entrance at
CES as the world's thinnest 5-inch 1080p
phone. This claim along with the rumoured pricing and high-end specification have made the S one of the most watched phones at
CES.
As with many
Chinese phones though,
ZTE originally only stated their plans for a
Chinese launch (later this month) and made no comments on the availability elsewhere. But in an interview with CNET,
Lixin Cheng has confirmed that
ZTE will partner with carriers in the
U.S and
launch the
Grand S later this year.
There is no firm release date, and the carrier details have not been made known, but at least customers in the U.S looking for a large screen phone with great spec at a good price have another candidate to add to their lists.
