IUNI U3 release date announced for 26th August

At the end of this month we could be seeing the world's first MT6595 Mediatek powered Android smartphone, the IUNI U3!

IUNI have concluded this week's teasers with a simple Weibo post with the date 26th August, the date their next smartphone will be unveiled. This will be the second ever Android smartphone from IUNI and also their second launch of the year, an amazing achievement for a software start-up, however their ties to Gionee must help somewhat.

As far as specifications for the phone go, the IUNI U3 will have a slim body with 5.5-inch display. The panel will be a QHD 2k model with, and the phone could be the first Mediatek MT6595 phone on the market, but as some have pointed hout the "4 x 2" teaser might also hint at dual 4G standby. We expect a price of around 1999 Yuan to start, as IUNI are targeting the newly launched Xiaomi Mi4 in the marketing.

So far the IUNI U3 is an exciting prospect, but for them to make an impact outside of China they need to release a multi-language ROM.
