Mediatek are going from strength to strength. The wily
chipset manufacturer from
Taiwan now have
LG in their kitty, with
LG going for the MT6577 to power their Optimus G
Pro Lite!
The MT6577 from Mediatek took the
Chinese market by storm last year, making dual core smartphones affordable for all. Coming back to the Optimus G
Pro Lite, the phone will have a 5.5 inch qHD (960x540p) screen, an 8 mega-pixel main
camera, 1.3 mega-pixel front facing camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of ROM along with a microSD slot for further expansion, and will be powered by an impressive 3140mAh battery. Like most other Mediatek powered phones, there will be support for dual SIM.
Although the
specifications take you back to China in 2012, it is the pricing which will matter the most. The choice of
chipset itself is enough to give away that
LG are targeting upcoming markets which are dominated by rebranded
Chinese phones which sell at low prices.
