Mediatek announces worlds first multimode wireless charging solution

Taiwanese chipset maker Mediatek have made headlines once again but this time it isn’t for a processor but rather a new multimode wireless charging solution.

Wireless charging in Android devices is nothing new, but the issue with current inductive chargers is that they can only charge a device if set in a certain position and can only charge one device at a time. Mediatek’s new resonance charging system fixes these issues offering a more flexible solution, and allowing multiple device to charge from a single dock even if they are not sitting directly on it.

The new resonance solution should be making its way it to Chinese smartphones over the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled for flagship Chinese phones with the new feature coming soon.
