Zopo's previous
flagship phone, the
Zopo ZP980, has been spotted in an
updated octacore guise dubbed the
Zopo ZP980+.
It comes as no surprise that Zopo are updating it's range of smartphones to include octacore processors, they did the same with the switch from single to dual-core and dual to quad, what is a surprise though is that the leak came from an online retailer rather than Zopo themselves.
So what updates does the new Zopo ZP980+ offer over the original quad-core version? Well first of all the
processor has been
updated to the latest 1.7Ghz
MT6592 chipset from Mediatek, an
octacore processor which is capable of running all 8 cores at once. The
MT6592 also boasts an improved Mali-450 GPU to further enhance performance!
Another update is the
rear camera, the previous
Zopo ZP980 had a 13 mega-pixel sensor where as the new ZP980+ has a 14 mega-pixel rear sensor, possibly the same as found on the
flagship Zopo ZP998.
The rest of the hardware appears to remain unchanged and includes a 5-inch 1920 x
1080 display, 1GB RAM (2GB coming later), dual-SIM support, micro SD, Bluetooth, WIFI and GPS. Unfortunately there seems to be no NFC.
Pricing for the octacore Zopo ZP980+ is just $269.99. We'll keep you posted on further Zopo developments.
