More teasers reveal more specs as we wait until next week for the official unveiling of the
UMi Iron. Here is what we have learned about the new phone so far this week.
More teasers on the
UMi Facebook page this week give us details of the audio and camera features of this new device. We had already learned that the
UMi Iron will feature Android 5.1, an octacore Mediatek chipset and alloy body, now details of the camera and audio have come to light.
With some customers complaining about the audio quality of some Chinese phones, UMi have promised better performance for music lovers by adding DirectPath Audio to the phone. UMi have confirmed that a Texas Instruments audio processor will be used in the new phone for better sound cancellation, and offer "Excellent Low Frequency Fidelity".
On the camera front, UMi will make use of the highly popular Sony IMX214 camera. This 13 mega-pixel shooter has been used on all manner of Android phones this year and when optimised correctly can produce stunning images. A front facing camera of 8 mega-pixels will receive a front facing LED flash, a features I find rather useful for those low-light selfies in the club!
The full unveiling of the UMi Iron will be held on the 23rd June where the phone will be officially released on the company's
Facebook page.
