MT6589 ZTE V987 aka budget Grand S hands on photos

ZTE have quite a few quad-core MT6589 phones prepped for 2013, and the first lot are just hitting stores across China as we speak. Here are some early hands on photos of the Grand S inspired ZTE V987.

It's easy to see the influence the ZTE Grand S has on the design of the V987, and on paper the hardware seems similar too. There is a 5-inch display plus quad-core processor along with a great rear camera, but to keep costs to a minimum the part used aren't the same.

The CPU is a Mediatek MT6589 unit, and the 5-inch display offers 720p resolution rather than 1080. Looking closer we see the V987 has 1GB RAM, 8 mega-pixel camera and a chunkier body to accommodate the larger 2500mAh battery.
