The large
battery trend continues with this latest entrant from
Chinese phone maker OUKI, the 5000mAh
OK A50.
According to the advertisement details of the
OK A50 the
phone offers 500 hours of standby which is roughly 20 days! We’re not sure how accurate these claims are, but a quick look at the hardware does confirm that there are some energy-efficient
choices going on.
Just plonking in a big
battery and hoping for the best isn’t going to work, so
OUKI have taken a good long look and chosen the components for the A50 wisely. For example the
display is a 4.5-inch QHD (960 x 540) panel rather than a HD unit, and the processor is one of
Meidatek’s
quad-core models which are known for the efficiency (thankfully it’s the faster 1.5Ghz
MT6589T). We also know the
phone has
Android 4.2.2 and of course a monstrous 5000mAh
battery.
The
OK A50 will go
on sale very soon, put the exact date and price is still up in the clouds.
