Realme 16 5G Heading to India With Dimensity 6400 Turbo and Selfie Mirror

Realme is preparing to launch the Realme 16 5G in India. The device was recently unveiled in Vietnam, and now it has appeared on the BIS certification database. With this certification, we can basically assume that an official launch is imminent. The Indian version is expected to carry the same specifications.
Realme 16 5G Passes By BIS Certification, Launch is Imminent
The BIS listing, spotted by TheTechOutlook, shows the model number RMX5171 under the Realme brand, with certification granted on January 14, 2026. While the product name isn’t explicitly listed, this model number has already been linked to the Realme 16 5G. Tipster Abhishek Yadav previously confirmed the memory and color options for India, and the device also appears on the Google Play Console supported devices list under the Realme 16 5G name.
For India, the Realme 16 5G is expected to launch in two variants: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. Color options are likely to include Air Black and Air White.
Decent Specifications on a Budget Price
The phone features a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2372 × 1080, a 93 percent screen-to-body ratio, and support for 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling. Brightness reaches 1000 nits under normal use, 1400 nits in high brightness mode, and up to 4200 nits peak, protected by DT Star D+ glass.
Photography is handled by a 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera paired with a 2MP monochrome sensor. The front camera is also 50MP with an 86-degree field of view. Features include LumaColor processing and AI Edit Genie for quick photo edits.
The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, with microSD support. It runs Realme UI 7.0 and packs a 7000mAh battery with 60W fast charging and wired reverse charging. Nowadays, this might not be the most impressive battery among Realme smartphones, but that is still a lot of juice for conventional users. Cooling is handled by a 6050mm² vapor chamber, and the device has IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance.
