As expected, Realme quietly rounded out its 16 series today. After the 16 Pro and 16 Pro+ had their moment, the regular Realme 16 has now gone official in Vietnam, and it looks like it won’t stay exclusive there for long.

Realme 16 Specifications and Key Features

Design is where this one clearly tries to stand apart. Realme is calling it Air Design, and yeah, you can see where the inspiration comes from. Flat, clean, and very modern, with a camera visor stretching across the back that feels like a mix of Pixel and that ultra-thin phone trend everyone keeps chasing.

That visor holds a 50MP main camera (IMX852) plus a 2MP monochrome sensor. Realme is pushing its LumaColor image processing here, which is supposed to help with color accuracy and dynamic range. There’s also a small but unusual touch, a selfie mirror on the edge, so you can frame yourself using the main rear camera. It sounds gimmicky, but some people will absolutely use it.

Bright Display, Enhanced Build and Large Battery

On the front, the phone carries a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness is rated at a wild 4,500 nits, and the screen is protected by AGC DT-Star D+ glass. The panel also includes a 50MP front camera and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is still not that common outside higher-end devices.
Under the hood, Realme went with the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage, depending on the version. This is not flagship territory, but it clearly aims at solid everyday performance with some gaming headroom.

Obviously, the battery and durability are strong points in this phone. The Realme 16 comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, which is a lot of numbers to say it can handle dust, water, and even high-pressure conditions better than most phones in this range. The body measures 8.1mm thick and weighs 183 grams, which is fairly reasonable considering what’s inside.
The headline is on a massive 7,000mAh battery, which instantly puts it in endurance territory. The phone comes with 60W fast charging, so topping up that large cell should not take forever. It might not be as extraordinarily impressive as the Realme P4 Pro with a 10,000mAh battery, but it is still miles beyond many other phones in the segment.
