Realme has announced that its next flagship smartphones, the Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro, will launch in China this October. The brand shared the news on Weibo. While the exact date is not confirmed, pre-orders are already open on Realme China’s official store and other online retailers. Curiously, this announcement comes shortly after the reveal of the Dimensity 9500.

Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro Marketing Campaign Begins

Interestingly, the brand revealed that those who pre-order the GT 8 or GT 8 Pro can get extended warranty coverage. Realme also said some buyers may have a chance to win a GT 8 Pro as a special prize.

As per the rumors, the GT 8 Pro will have a 6.78-inch flat display with slim bezels. On the camera side, the device will include a 50 MP main rear sensor, a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, and an ultrawide camera. The handset will come with a large 8,000 mAh battery. A few years ago, that capacity would have been unthinkable on a flagship, but we all know that this can be an easy achievement in the age of Si-C batteries.

Dual Chipset Strategy Could Be Adopted

We don't know yet which chip will be inside the Realme GT 8 or Realme GT 8 Pro. The timing is intriguing, however. Today, MediaTek unveiled the Dimensity 9500 chip as its new flagship chipset. There are big improvements in performance, efficiency, and AI capabilities.
It is a strong candidate for Realme's new flagships, but we wouldn't discard at least one variant with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 5. In the end, Realme could go with the dual-chipset strategy, with one sporting the Dimensity 9500 and the other sporting the Snapdragon chip.
We expect more details to appear in the coming days. Realme certainly will increase its efforts in the marketing campaign.
