One UI 9 Beta Is Coming to More Galaxy Phones - Is Yours on the List?

Samsung launched the One UI 9 beta back in May, but only Galaxy S26 users have been able to try it so far. That could change very soon. New test builds have appeared for several older Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S25, S24 and even some Galaxy A models.

Samsung hasn't announced the next phase of the beta yet. Still, there are now enough signs to suggest that more phones are about to join.

The Galaxy S26 series has already received seven One UI 9 beta builds, so Samsung should be close to finishing testing on its latest flagship phones.

At the same time, beta builds have appeared on Samsung's test servers for more than a dozen other devices. Samsung has also created beta sections on its Community forum for phones such as the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

That usually happens shortly before a beta program goes live.

There is one thing to keep in mind. This isn't an official list from Samsung, and finding a beta build on its servers doesn't mean every phone above will join the public beta program.

What surprised me more is the number of Galaxy A phones on the list. Samsung usually starts with its expensive Galaxy S and Z models before moving down to the A series.

The Galaxy A54 is especially interesting since it launched back in 2023. If Samsung does open the beta to this phone, users could test Android 17 months before I would normally expect them to get such early access.

One UI 9 is based on Android 17 and brings several changes to Galaxy phones. Samsung has added more customization options, new security tools and updates to several of its own apps. AI is also a big part of the release, although some of the more advanced features won't be available on every Galaxy device.

The stable version already ships on Samsung's new Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, while the Galaxy S26 series should get it soon.

For now, Samsung hasn't said when the wider beta will begin. But with beta pages already appearing on its Community forum, Galaxy S25 and recent Fold and Flip owners may not have much longer to wait.
