A fresh report from
Counterpoint
Research brings big news for Samsung. The
Galaxy S25 series has done better in
sales than the
Galaxy S24 series. An assessment of sales from February to December for the year each series were launched reveals a shocking result.
The above indicates that the Galaxy
S25 group sold 5% more than the Galaxy S24 group in that period. In the phone
industry, this is a huge increase. What makes this more fun is how the year
played out. In February, the
Galaxy S25 series was a bit slow. It sold less
than the Galaxy S24 series did in its first month. In March, sales were on par.
But from then on, the
Galaxy S25 line kept the lead all the way to December.
That slow start did not last long.
Ultra
Model Steals the Show
The standout in this series is the
Galaxy S25 Ultra phone, which sold 7% more than the Galaxy S24 Ultra in that
period. This is no mean achievement for a phone that was released months ago. It
did not just sell well at launch. The Galaxy S25 Ultra even saw sales rise in mid-year.
In July and October, month-to-month sales went up. That is rare for a phone
that has been out for months.
By year’s end, the Galaxy S25 Ultra
was in the Top ten best-selling phones of 2025. That is no small feat in a
tight race.
How
the Sales Broke Down
The Ultra model is the clear fan
fave in both lines. The Galaxy S24 Ultra made up 45% of its series total sales.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra did even more, with 46% of its series. The base Galaxy S25
had 35% of total sales. That is just one point less than the base Galaxy S24,
which had 36%.
As for the Plus models, both the
Galaxy S24+ and the Galaxy S25+ held the same share. Each one made up 19% of
its line’s total sales. All in all, the Galaxy S25 series did not just edge
past the last gen. It built a real lead and kept it. For Samsung, that is a win
worth noting.
